Adelaide Brighton Ltd (Adbri), a prominent Australian construction and building materials company listed on the ASX, was facing a significant challenge. The company needed to modernise its network infrastructure across 121 sites spread throughout Australia. With a deep commitment to enhancing connectivity, improving security, and adopting more Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, Adbri aimed to increase its agility, security, and compliance. However, to achieve this, they needed a reliable and secure network that could span diverse geographic locations while ensuring high performance and user satisfaction.

For this crucial task, Adbri turned to Hastwell, a longstanding ICT partner. The scope of the project was ambitious: Hastwell was tasked with deploying a modern, secure, and reliable network that could support Adbri’s growing need for public cloud connectivity and SaaS applications. Hastwell’s expertise was put to the test as we leveraged cutting-edge technologies like Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN, Prisma Access, Strata Gateway, Panorama, and Meraki Cloud-Managed Cellular Gateway to design and implement a comprehensive solution.

The challenge was not just about deploying a network, but doing so across remote locations, each with different connectivity requirements. Hastwell needed to maintain a consistent security posture, enhance the user experience, and meet tight timelines. Hastwell’s team rose to the challenge, upgrading Adbri’s low-bandwidth MPLS sites to high-bandwidth solutions using multiple WAN and internet providers. We migrated multiple SD-WAN sites per day, established direct connectivity to Azure and AWS, and implemented traffic steering and redundancy measures to ensure seamless application performance. Consistent security policies were applied across all data centers, WAN sites, and remote users, safeguarding the entire network.

The results were outstanding. Adbri’s network infrastructure was transformed into a modern, secure, and reliable system, providing seamless connectivity across all 121 sites. The deployment significantly boosted operational efficiency, with enhanced performance, security, and user experience across the board. By leveraging Hastwell’s cutting-edge technology and precise planning, Adbri was able to future-proof their network, facilitating the adoption of cloud services and SaaS applications while maintaining stringent security standards.

Throughout the project, both Hastwell and Adbri adhered to the highest ethical standards, ensuring transparency, integrity, and respect for all stakeholders involved. This commitment to ethical behavior guided their decision-making and ensured professionalism and accountability throughout the deployment process.

Hastwell also prioritised sustainability. By optimising the infrastructure and employing efficient migration strategies, we minimised unnecessary waste and reduced energy consumption. The deployment of a future-ready network architecture not only positioned Adbri for long-term growth but also supported their environmental responsibility goals, enabling the company to evolve sustainably as it embraced modern technologies.

The partnership between Hastwell and Adbri highlights the power of collaboration in overcoming complex challenges. With Hastwell’s leadership in system implementation, integration, and continuous improvement, Adbri successfully achieved their goals of a modernised, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure, ready for the future.
